A state-of-the-art sprinkler system, low surface-temperature radiators and other special safety and security systems have been designed-in, as have sun-pipes to provide natural light wherever possible, a direct-dial room telephone system with itemised billing, specialised bathing facilities, and an intercall alarm facility with its own audio link which alerts staff instantly to any problems and allows instant communication between residents and care staff.
Methven House, with its upper floors accessed by two lifts, can cater for 62 residents in 58 single and two double rooms, all of which enjoy spacious facilities with en-suite toilet and shower or bath. Surrounding Methven House the grounds enjoy extensive landscaped garden areas where residents can take a stroll or simply sit and enjoy the fresh air and flowers.
Located close to the commercial and recreational centres of Kirkcaldy, its proximity to the local bus and train stations also places Methven House within easy reach of the many attractions of the surrounding area. Edinburgh is easily reached by both road and rail.
With regular outings to the shops, shows and other attractions available as part of the Kingdom Homes Ltd outreach programme, there is always plenty to do - including a very busy schedule of events from exercise classes to reminiscence sessions and games, with inter-home competitions a regular and popular feature on the Methven House calendar.
