James Farmer and Paula Paterson (alias Poosie Nancy) look on with Violet Chapman as Florence Gibson adresses the haggis.

Methven House residents celebrated Rabbie Burns birthday with a Burns Supper on Monday 25th January. The ground floor dining room was decorated with a Scottish flavour and all of the residents gathered there to celebrate the event together.

The haggis was piped in by James Farmer who is a member of Kirkcaldy High School Juvenile Pipe Band. James has only been playing the bagpipes for a few months but he was note perfect in his performance for the residents. James is the nephew of Lynne Morris who is a care assistant at Methven House.

Paula Paterson, activities co-ordinator at Methven House, was Poosie Nancy for the day and one of the residents, Florence Gibson, gave the Address to the Haggis.

Some of the after school club children from Kingdom Kiddies Nursery recited Burns poetry and performed a highland fling before the residents ate the traditional meal which included haggis neeps and tatties which is always a favourite with the residents.

All of those present voted the event a great success and were glad of the opportunity to continue this long established Scottish tradition.
