Election Fever comes to Methven House
Thursday, 29 April 2010
With the General Election taking place on 6th May, Methven House invited the local candidates of the main parties to attend "Question Time" sessions at the home in April.
The local candidates from the Conservative, Liberal Democrat and Scottish Nationalist Parties all agreed to come along to individual sessions to explain their party's policies and answer questions put to them by residents, relatives and staff. Unfortunately the Labour Party were unable to attend.
Each session was well attended and some very lively dialogue was entered into with residents showing that they have a keen interest in the way the country is run. Whether the audience was assisited in deciding which party should get their vote is not known but the sessions themselves were voted a great success.
Arrangements have been made for those residents who do not have a postal vote to be taken to the Polling Station on Election Day.
